My Story

Greetings and welcome to Plant-Based Lifestyle!

I’m Olaide Aderemi, a UN Women UK delegate, certified vegan health coach and Neuro Health Practioner dedicated to empowering individuals to make informed choices for enhanced health and well-being through whole foods.

My journey, inspired by faith, led me to embrace a plant-based lifestyle, and I’m filled with gratitude every day for the opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences.

Let’s embark on this journey together towards optimal living.

My dietary journey wasn’t always plant-based; for much of my life, I consumed animal products, with meals often revolving around meat, eggs, dairy, and processed junk food.

Life-changing events prompt us to react either positively or negatively. In November 2018, I tragically lost my brother to a heart attack, despite him being on high blood pressure medication. His diet, however, was far from healthy. There’s a common misconception that medication can compensate for poor dietary choices, but his passing illuminated the importance of nutrition.

A year later, while conversing with my older brother, he mentioned a documentary called PlantPure Nation. Intrigued, I watched it, and its message resonated deeply with me. The documentary highlighted the potential of a plant-based lifestyle in preventing or even reversing conditions like high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes. It was a pivotal moment for me, and I felt compelled to embark on my transition to a plant-based lifestyle.

This shift wasn’t just about changing my diet; it was embracing a whole new way of life. I delved into extensive research to understand the intricacies of this lifestyle change and what it entailed.

What I did

I watched a few more documentaries on the subject

I did more research online on the subject

I enrolled onto some online courses

I prayed and pondered for a while before transitioning

I decided to plunge in and ditch all the animal products and start eating plant-based. (Please note this does not work for everyone. You have to decide how you want to start and build up from there).

Why I did it

Similar to my brother, I had been relying on blood pressure medication for years, and our family history included a prevalence of diabetes. Through thorough research, I discovered the potential to either reduce or even reverse my dependency on high blood pressure medication. Moreover, adopting a plant-based lifestyle offered the promise of averting the onset of diabetes, a concern that loomed large due to the experiences of my grandmother and mother.

My motivation, my “why,” stemmed from a deep desire to lead a life of health and vitality, free from the shackles of medication.

The Result!!!

Six months into my journey, my GP began reducing my medication dosage, considering my prolonged use of high blood pressure tablets. After a year of embracing this lifestyle wholeheartedly, I’m delighted to report that I am now completely free from medication.

Certification
